  • Have everything ready before heating the skillet; this cooks quickly.
  • Makes 2 servings with measured ingredients and clear timing.

What you’ll need

Keep everything measured and close by before you start. You’ll find the full quantities in the printable recipe card below.

  • 12 oz shrimp, peeled
  • 6 oz noodles
  • 1 bell pepper, thin strips
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Let’s make it

  1. Prep the ingredients

Cook noodles according to the package, drain and toss with sesame oil. While the noodles or pasta cook, start the skillet steps below.

  2. Heat half the olive oil in a skillet over high heat

Heat half the olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Stir-fry bell pepper 3–4 minutes; remove.

  3. Add remaining olive oil and shrimp

Add remaining olive oil and shrimp. Cook 2–3 minutes per side to 145°F.

  4. Bring it together

Return pepper, add noodles and soy sauce, and toss for 1 minute until hot.

  5. Finish and serve

Taste and finish with the measured salt and black pepper; use less salt if a prepared sauce is already salty.

Make It Even Better

Have everything ready before heating the skillet; this cooks quickly.

Make it your own

Use rice noodles prepared according to the package instead of egg noodles.

What to serve with it

Serve straight from the hot skillet in shallow bowls. Keep the pieces spread out rather than tightly packed so the vegetables retain their bite.
